No.99,Happiness Road
Told through the eyes of Su Man, a young woman from Taipei, China, this warm, uplifting, and lightly comedic series follows her unexpected journey. Unemployed and broke after her ex-boyfriend empties their joint savings, Su Man travels to Lucheng to demand repayment. Instead, she ends up with a restaurant, all that's left of the debt. Selling it isn't easy, so her actuary logic kicks in: run the business, raise its value, then sell. On the other side of town, Chen Yu, a Michelin chef chasing the essence of great food, returns to Lucheng and stumbles into Su Man's life through that very storefront. Together, they start an unlikely partnership running a cozy neighborhood eatery at No. 99 Xingfu Road. They whip up comforting dishes for the city's tireless workers. Through cooking and keeping each other company day by day, they go from clash to connection, from going it alone to leaning on each other. As the street fills with savory smells and laughter, the old neighborhood regains its pulse. In this simple yet profound journey, both find the flavor of happiness once again.
