Set in the 1970s, Fei Ni, an ambitious textile factory worker, dreams of changing her fate through education. Her middle school classmate, Fang Muyang, becomes a local hero after being injured while saving someone. Hoping to gain merit and be recommended for university, Fei Ni volunteers to care for him,but her hopes are repeatedly dashed.
