Genius traditional Chinese painter Xin Yi returns to her picturesque hometown with a hidden agenda. She carefully lays out a plan to become the hired artist of renowned collector Guan Shanhai. But her true motive is to uncover the truth behind a horrific incident from over a decade ago - her father was lured into a counterfeit art factory and died tragically, while her younger sister Nong was brutally abused and left mentally shattered.

Using herself as bait, Xin Yi is determined to expose the mastermind behind the tragedy. At a critical moment, Guan Shanhai’s son, Guan Huai, unexpectedly offers her a helping hand—hoping to use her in his own power struggle to usurp control from his father.
