후바이, 셜리 양, 왕뚱보이 천신만고 끝에 타클라마칸 사막의 정절고성 유적지‘귀신동굴’을 찾아떠나는 짜릿한 드라마이다.  후바이는 집에 유일한 책인<십유자 음양풍수비술>이란 책을 챙기고 지식 청년으로 중국과 몽골 변경에 위치한 강강영자에 내려간다.심심할 보는 그 책을 결국 다 외울 정도로 숙도한다. 그 뒤에 티베트에서 입대하여 눈사태를 만나 큰 구덩이에 떨어지게 되었는데 후바이는 무덤 비술로 구사일생으로 살아난다.제대한 후바이는 친구 왕뚱보와 함께 티베트로 향한 고고학 팀에 합류하며 천신만고 끝에 타클라마칸 사막에 위치한 정절고성 유적지 ‘귀신동굴’에 들어간다. 동굴 안에는 함정과 기관이 수두룩했으며 이 신비한 귀신동굴은 어떤 선지자의 손에 쥐고 있는 듯 한다.
