In the early Republican era, a river in northern Jiang was known for claiming exactly five lives each year in mysterious drownings. Over time, locals began calling it the āFive-Soul River.ā A folk's saying spread: āIf the moon doesnāt show, no one should go. Little ghosts roam the riverās flow.ā Three people had already died this year. But when Master Ba arrived, the strange events finally began to take a turn.
