Australians call Australia ‘The Big Red Land’. It’s not hard to see why judging by these images of the Henley-on-Todd Regatta, a ‘watersport’ event held every year on the northern end of the Todd River bed! That’s right, river bed; no water apart from just there, just dust. Dry, red dust.
They’re an innovative mob, duplicating the English Henley-on Thames Regatta without the main liquid ingredient.
I’m betting that there’s a lot of liquid at the end of the day though and it’s used to wash down the dust from the Play Of The Day!
Just watch how you drive home, sport.
