Sugar Ray Robinson and Britain’s Randolf Turpin at their pre fight weigh-in. In 1951 fighters had respect for each other. SOT: “Turpin is one of the best….wonderful Fellow.” But these days boxers talk the talk less amicably. They stare each other in the face giving the stink eye whilst uttering threats. I prefer the old days when good manners prevailed. But over 60 years later the tradition has deteriorated into this circus. So that’s today…this is the Play Of The Day. The handshake is a little embarrassing though.
