《吐槽大会》 is a Chinese stand-up comedy show. In each episode, an experienced celebrity with great interity is invited to be the "roastee" who will invite his or her friends to join the show and take the challenge of "roasting".   33세의 임묘는 쉐어 자전거, 휴대폰 결제, 배달앱 다 없던 시대에서 우연히 초양을 만난다. 두 사람은 처음엔 서로를 못마땅했지만 함께 일하는 상사, 부하직원의 관계로 된다. 임묘는 항상 초양의 새로운 세계의 문을  열어주고 능력없는 사장의 머리속에 가득차는 비현실적인 사업 계획도 모두 실행에 옮기려는 생각을 든다. 
  초양은 자신보다 8살이나 많은 이 여자의 가장 약한 모습도 보게 된다. 10년 전 헤어진 뒤 임묘는 나약했던 자신과 이별하기 위해 개명까지 불사한다. 하지만 강한 겉모습의 그녀도 여전히 설례하고 보호받기를 원하는 소녀일 뿐이다. 어느새 임묘의 심장은 초양 때문에 두근대고 있다. 하지만 이때 초양과 임묘는 모든 음모의 배후이자 주모자가 임묘의 전 남자친구라는 사실을 발견한다. 초양과 베다른 형인 소승균은 마치 왕자와 거지 같은 운명으로 살아온다. 소승균은 달라지는 모습을 보여주기로 한다.
